With an outstanding reputation for technical excellence, product innovation and employee development, the business continues to invest heavily in both its technology and people.

Working remotely from the North West, you'll support customers across the UK and Ireland, delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical expertise on specialist capital equipment while building long-term customer relationships.

The Role

As a Technical Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting customers throughout the complete equipment lifecycle. Combining hands-on engineering with exceptional customer service, you'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing sophisticated electro-mechanical systems used within industrial manufacturing environments.

Working closely with the Sales, Projects, Engineering and Aftermarket teams, you'll provide technical support both remotely and on customer sites, helping customers maximise equipment performance, minimise downtime and optimise production processes.

This is a varied customer-facing role offering plenty of autonomy, technical challenge working on adhesive applicators that integrate into clients machinery. This role required a hands on mechanical skillset but electrically qualified to install onsite up to 400 volts.

Key Responsibilities

* Install, commission and configure specialist industrial capital equipment at customer sites.

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.

* Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

* Fault find on industrial control systems and PLC-controlled equipment.

* Conduct customer trials, system verification, application testing and process optimisation activities.

* Deliver customer training on equipment operation, maintenance and best practice.

* Carry out equipment upgrades, modifications and system improvements.

* Produce detailed technical and service reports following site visits.

* Work closely with Sales, Technical Support and Project Engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

* Identify opportunities for service contracts, spare parts, upgrades and aftermarket solutions.

* Build strong relationships with customers, providing a professional, solutions-focused service at all times.

* Support technical demonstrations, exhibitions and customer events when required.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong electro-mechanical background and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

You'll enjoy working independently, solving technical challenges and supporting customers across a variety of manufacturing environments.

Ideally you'll have:

* Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer or Technical Support Engineer.

* Electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent.

* Proven experience servicing industrial machinery or capital equipment.

* Strong electrical fault-finding skills with good mechanical aptitude.

* Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

* Knowledge of industrial control systems and PLCs would be advantageous.

* Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.

* Experience installing, commissioning and maintaining industrial equipment.

* Confident using diagnostic tools and test equipment.

* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (SAP experience beneficial).

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.

* A proactive, organised and customer-focused approach.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Based within the Manchester / Greater Manchester region or surrounding North West area.

Travel

This is a field-based role covering customers throughout the UK and Ireland.

* Approximately 80% travel

* Regular overnight stays required (normal average 1-3 nights but 4 hours paid for each over night stay)

* Fully expensed travel

* Company vehicle provided with private use (Hybrid Car)
