Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant – Full Time
GSL Education are proud to be working exclusively with a specialist school in Totton that is seeking a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP.
The school supports primary-aged pupils with severe, profound and complex learning needs. Many pupils also have additional sensory, physical, medical, social or emotional needs.
Responsibilities
Support pupils across the Primary Key Stages following a foundation curriculum.
Assist with Phonics, Literacy and Numeracy activities.
Support pupils during creative lessons, including Art and play-based learning.
Encourage engagement through sensory and interactive activities such as Play-Doh, painting and outdoor play.
Work closely with teaching staff to provide a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
A positive, energetic and confident approach.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Previous experience is beneficial but not essential – the school welcomes candidates with little or no experience who are eager to learn.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
