Job Summary

We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to work on a part-time basis across our partner primary schools in Barking & Dagenham and the surrounding boroughs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain school experience or balance work around other commitments while supporting pupils in a friendly and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role

As a Part-Time Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and help pupils achieve their full potential. Working across a range of year groups, you will assist with classroom activities, provide additional support where needed, and contribute to creating a positive and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
Support pupils with SEN when needed.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.
Encourage positive behaviour and follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar setting is desirable.
A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Confidence supporting pupils across a range of primary age groups.
Ability to adapt to different school environments.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
