Part-Time School Caretaker

📍 Locations: Multiple schools across Derby

🕗 Hours: Monday to Friday, approx. 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm (20 hours per week)

💰 Pay: £13.50 - £14.00 per hour

📅 No shifts during school holidays

Blue Arrow Derby are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Caretakers to support several fantastic schools across Derby. If you're someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, enjoys variety and isn't afraid to get stuck in, we'd love to hear from you.

🔧 What you'll be doing

🛠️ Carrying out general site maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY

🚪 Opening and locking the school site each day

🧼 Cleaning classrooms, corridors, dining areas and changing rooms to a high standard

🧽 Litter picking and keeping outdoor areas tidy

🪑 Setting up and putting away furniture for lessons and school activities

📦 Recording deliveries and monitoring stock levels

🧯 Supporting fire safety procedures and assisting vulnerable individuals during evacuations

🗂️ Helping with lunchtime setup and clean-down

👷‍♂️ Assisting external contractors and overseeing maintenance works

📋 Completing compliance checks and logging findings accurately

✅ What we're looking for

* Previous caretaker, janitor, handyperson or site support experience is helpful (not essential)

* Enhanced Child DBS dated within the last 12 months (or willingness to obtain - we can help)

* Able to lift and move furniture and equipment

* Confident communicator with a positive, can-do attitude

* Able to work independently and manage your time well

* Familiar with cleaning products, equipment and safe working practices
