6-9 Month Interim Contract
A Midlands-based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Head of Service for Older People Commissioning to provide strategic leadership across adult social care commissioning services, with a particular focus on care homes, residential care and domiciliary care provision.This is a key interim leadership role within a high-profile transformation programme and would suit an established commissioning leader with strong partnership, commercial and operational experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic commissioning and contract management of older people's services.
Drive market development and sustainability across residential, nursing and domiciliary care services.
Support service transformation and deliver improved outcomes for residents.
Build effective relationships with providers, health partners and senior stakeholders.
Ensure commissioning activity delivers value for money and aligns with statutory duties.
Provide leadership across associated operational functions, including financial services and customer charging processes.Essential Experience
Significant senior-level commissioning experience within Adult Social Care.
Proven leadership of older people's commissioning services, including care homes and home care markets.
Strong understanding of local authority commissioning, procurement and contract management.
Experience managing or overseeing financial operations such as: client financial assessments and charging; income collection; appointeeship and deputyship services; financial safeguarding processes.
Experience operating at Head of Service or Assistant Director level within a Local Authority setting.
Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and political environments.What you need to do now
