Your responsibilities as Mid-Level Python Software Engineer
Develop, test and maintain secure, reliable software using Python together with JavaScript or TypeScript
Contribute to solution design, ensuring applications remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with modern cloud architecture
Participate in code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement of engineering standards
Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and UX teams to deliver high-quality software through Agile sprints
Work alongside senior technical colleagues to strengthen engineering capability and adopt best practice
Support the ongoing enhancement of digital platforms that underpin critical energy systems
What we're looking for in a Mid-Level Python Software Engineer
Commercial experience developing applications with Python and frameworks such as Django alongside JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience working within cloud environments including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, version control and CI/CD practices
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Exposure to technologies such as React, Node.js, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Celery, Infrastructure as Code or database optimisation would be advantageous
Working hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday with hybrid working (2 days per week in the Birmingham office).
