We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team and help keep essential water and wastewater treatment assets running smoothly. If you take pride in high‑quality mechanical work and enjoy a mix of workshop and on‑site activity, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact on critical UK infrastructure.
Responsibilities:-
* Assembling, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, screens, and rotating machinery
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across clean water and wastewater treatment sites
* Installing and aligning pumps, motors, blowers, and other rotating equipment to engineering drawings and industry standards
* Working on a range of pipework systems (stainless, ductile iron, PVC, PE) including cutting, fitting, flanging, and bolting
* Completing workshop refurbishments: strip‑downs, inspections, cleaning, and reassembly
* Fault‑finding on operational sites and delivering effective, safe repairs
* Following RAMS, confined space procedures, and all water‑industry safety and environmental protocols
* Using lifting and handling equipment safely (chain blocks, hoists, slings)
* Keeping accurate job records, permits, maintenance logs, and asset reports
What You’ll Need
* Full UK driving licence
* CSCS card
* EUSR
* Confined Space (Level 2 City & Guilds)
