Estimator

Our client, a well-established contractor delivering refurbishment, retrofit and construction projects across the Midlands, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong estimating background who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in securing new business.
Key Responsibilities
* Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions.
* Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
* Carry out take-offs and quantity measurements.
* Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
* Liaise with the commercial and operational teams throughout the tender process.
* Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required.
* Maintain estimating databases and cost information.
* Ensure submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines.
* Support handovers to the delivery team following successful contract awards.
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
* Experience pricing refurbishment, retrofit or social housing projects.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience using estimating software.
