GSL Education London are seeking a talented and dedicated Drama Teacher to join schools in Newham from September 2026, where you will encourage students to develop confidence, communication skills, and a love for the performing arts.
The successful Drama Teacher will deliver engaging and imaginative lessons across key stages 3, supporting students according to the curriculum and syllabus. This long-term opportunity is ideal for an educator who is committed to nurturing creativity while helping students achieve excellent academic and personal outcomes through drama and performance.
Responsibilities of a Drama Teacher:
Plan and deliver inspiring Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus.
Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and effective communication through practical and theoretical learning.
Prepare students for performances, assessments, and examinations where applicable.
Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff to promote student achievement.
Contribute to extracurricular drama productions and performing arts activities where appropriate.
Requirements of a Drama Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE, ECT/NQT, an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, Education, or a related field.
Previous experience teaching Drama within schools.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for performing arts and inspiring young people.
Ability to motivate students and foster a positive learning environment.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
