Business Analyst - Contract
Location: London (3 days per week onsite)
Rate: £450 per day
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial contract with potential for extension
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance and NPPV3 Clearance (both must be current and active)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a high-profile transformation programme within a large, complex public-sector environment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team, you will play a key role in understanding business needs, analysing processes, and helping shape solutions that deliver measurable operational improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a programme with significant visibility and real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions across a diverse stakeholder landscape.
- Analyse current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts, including requirements documentation, process maps, user stories, and business cases.
- Support the design and implementation of business and operational change initiatives.
- Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and end users to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Assist with impact assessments, gap analysis, and benefits realisation activities.
- Support testing, user acceptance activities, and change adoption where required.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood, prioritised, and traceable throughout the delivery life cycle.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within complex transformation programmes.
- Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse and improve business processes and operating models.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Experience working across multiple workstreams within fast-paced delivery environments.
- Active SC Clearance and NPPV3 Clearance are essential requirements for this role.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within public sector, government, policing, justice, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of business change, organisational transformation, or service improvement programmes.
- Experience working alongside consulting or advisory teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and collaborative Business Analyst who is comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments and translating business challenges into practical solutions.
You will be equally confident engaging with senior leaders, operational teams, and delivery professionals, bringing a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and change delivery.
