Senior Scala Developer
Remote | £380 per day Inside IR35 | 3-Month Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Scala Developer to join a high-profile government programme on an initial 3-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level contractor who can combine strong hands-on Scala development skills with the ability to influence technical direction, champion best practices, and engage effectively with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Scala
• Promote and implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams
• Establish and maintain development standards and best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
• Support agile delivery within a complex public sector environment

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Scala Developer
• Strong expertise in Scala development
• Extensive experience working within a TDD environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to mentor developers and lead technical discussions
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams

Desirable

• Previous Government or Public Sector experience
