Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a growing systems integration business based in Cheshire. This Control Systems Engineer role will suit someone who enjoys developing PLC software from scratch, producing high-quality engineering documentation and delivering automation projects within highly regulated industrial environments.
The successful Control Systems Engineer will work on control systems projects within the UK nuclear sector, supporting safety-critical facilities through the full project lifecycle. The role offers the opportunity to work on long-term projects where engineering quality, documentation and compliance are just as important as the software itself.

* Developing SCADA and HMI applications for safety-critical industrial control systems
* Producing Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Design Specifications (SDS), FAT documentation, test procedures, commissioning documentation and technical manuals

* Successful applicants will be sponsored through the relevant UK security clearance process, making this an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to establish a long-term career within the nuclear sector
The successful Control Systems Engineer is likely to have –
* Strong PLC software development experience, ideally using Siemens or Rockwell / Allen Bradley platforms
* Experience developing HMI and SCADA systems
* Previous experience producing structured engineering documentation including FDS, SDS, FAT documentation and test procedures
* Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols
* Experience working within regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, utilities, oil & gas or process manufacturing would be advantageous
* An appreciation of functional safety standards, quality assurance processes and industrial cyber security principles
* A methodical approach with strong attention to detail and an appreciation of working within controlled engineering environments
* Full UK driving licence
* Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship and be able to satisfy the security clearance requirements
If you are a Control Systems Engineer, PLC Software Engineer, Automation Engineer, SCADA Engineer or Systems Engineer looking to build a long-term career delivering automation projects within the UK nuclear sector, and would welcome the opportunity to gain UK Security Clearance whilst working on technically challenging projects, please apply today
