Nights Laser Operative
Location: Poynton Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00-06:00 Department: Production / Cutting Operations Industry: Heavy Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC laser cutting machinery to deliver precision-cut metal components
Interpret technical drawings and process work orders efficiently and accurately
Perform routine checks and maintenance on laser equipment
Work to production targets while ensuring adherence to strict quality standards
Collaborate with colleagues in cutting and fabrication operations
Uphold all health, safety, and environmental procedures
Complete shift records and materials usage logs with accuracy
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in laser cutting or sheet metal operations is essential
Comfortable handling heavy materials and working in an industrial environment
Strong attention to detail and good mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of CNC processes; basic programming is a plus
Self-driven, punctual, and dependable for consistent night shift work
FLT licence or overhead crane operation experience would be beneficial
Pre-Employment Process:
Candidates will complete a assessment to evaluate suitability and alignment with job requirements using basic hand tools, also must be able to use a tape measure.
A phone interview will be conducted prior to offer, focusing on experience, availability, and motivation for the role
