Role Overview
A 6-month hybrid contract role based in London (2-3 days on-site), focused on driving enterprise data governance and retention capabilities. The role is responsible for translating regulatory requirements into actionable retention policies and frameworks, using tools such as BigID to enable compliance, data visibility, and scalable implementation across complex data ecosystems. The position requires close collaboration with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders, ideally within a financial services or insurance context.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise data retention policies and life cycle frameworks, translating regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA) into actionable rules.
- Drive dataset prioritisation and risk-based retention strategy, supporting data classification and mapping aligned to retention logic.
- Develop user stories and workflows for retention execution, defining treatment actions such as archive, delete, or retain.
- Govern approval workflows and oversee retention execution, ensuring auditability and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate extensively with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to align retention strategy with organisational risk appetite.
