SAP HR Payroll Engineer | Spanish Payroll | Remote Contract (Flexible Hours)

I'm currently supporting a global enterprise software support organisation that's looking to engage an experienced SAP HR Payroll Engineer with Spanish Payroll localisation expertise on a fully remote, on-demand consulting basis.

This isn't a traditional implementation project. Instead, you'll become part of a global payroll engineering team supporting enterprise customers post-go-live, delivering payroll legislative updates, resolving complex payroll issues, and enhancing existing SAP Payroll solutions.

Key details:

• Fully remote
• Flexible, on-demand engagement (typically 0-20+ hours per week depending on customer demand)
• Ideal for experienced freelancers looking to supplement existing client work
• Support multiple enterprise customers across Europe rather than a single implementation
• Strong SAP Spanish Payroll (PY-ES) configuration and localisation experience is essential
• Configure and maintain payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, features and payroll rules
• Deliver tax, legal and statutory payroll changes in line with Spanish payroll legislation
• Troubleshoot complex payroll calculation, configuration and localisation issues
• Work closely with in-country payroll specialists and business analysts to design and implement compliant payroll solutions
• Support testing, regression testing and ongoing payroll enhancements
• Additional European payroll localisation experience (UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, etc.) would be highly advantageous
• Techno-functional SAP Payroll experience is preferred over purely technical ABAP development
