Do you have a passion for great food and excellent customer service? We're looking for a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages, stepping in whenever our catering teams need an extra pair of hands. You'll help deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining excellent standards and creating positive dining experiences for the customers who call our villages home.
What you'll do:
* Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals to a high standard.
* Support the smooth running of our kitchens, restaurants and bistros.
* Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
* Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste to deliver a cost-effective service.
* Work closely with colleagues to provide a welcoming dining experience for customers.
* Provide flexible cover across our Independent Living Villages as and when required.
* Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Team Leader.
* Guide and support Catering Assistants in delivering a high-quality service.
Who you are:
* You hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or above (or are willing to refresh your training where required).
* You have demonstrable experience in a similar catering role.
* You're passionate about preparing great food and delivering excellent customer service.
* You have experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
* You understand food hygiene, health and safety requirements, including allergen management and special dietary needs.
* You're organised, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
* You communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team.
* You're flexible and happy to work across different locations to support our services when needed.
* You hold a valid UK Driving license to travel between sites.
