Quantity Surveyor

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Commercial team based in Chatham.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for several key accounts on a major project or oversee the commercial and financial management of smaller schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven professional looking to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare applications, valuations and cost value reconciliations.
* Manage project cost control and forecasting.
* Produce and contribute to monthly commercial reports, including value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
* Manage supply chain relationships and subcontractors.
* Support risk and value management processes to optimise project outcomes.
* Mentor and provide commercial guidance to project teams.
* Administer contracts, budgets and commercial software systems.
* Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms and manage subcontract agreements.
* Ensure contractual documentation and project notifications are maintained accurately.
* Escalate any safety-related commercial risks to site management.
* Liaise regularly with site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
* Provide contractual advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
Essential:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
* Associate Member of RICS (ARICS) or currently working towards APC.
* Previous experience working for a main contractor.
Desirable:
* Experience within the water or utilities sector.
* Knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts.
