Contract/Project
We’re looking for two skilled Multi Trade Operative - External (FTC until 31st March 2027) to deliver high‑quality fencing and roofing works across our housing stock.
These roles play a vital part in keeping our homes safe, secure and weather‑tight, supporting responsive repairs, emergency works, void properties and minor planned works. You’ll take pride in right‑first‑time repairs, excellent customer service and working safely.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Delivering responsive and emergency fencing and roofing repairs to a high standard
Installing, repairing and replacing:
Timber, concrete and metal fencing systems, including gates, posts and gravel boards
Pitched and flat roof elements (tiles, slates, ridge tiles, felt, battens and membranes)
Guttering, fascias, soffits and rainwater goods
Diagnosing defects and selecting durable, compliant repair solutions
Working safely at height using ladders, podiums or scaffolding
Maintaining clean, safe work areas — including communal spaces
Using mobile devices to:
Receive jobs
Record work completed
Order materials and update outcomes in real time
Supporting service performance targets such as first‑time fix, quality and resident satisfaction
Participating in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota when required
Taking responsibility for your van, tools and stock
Must haves:
Proven experience in fencing and/or roofing within domestic or similar environments
Strong practical skills and attention to quality and finish
Experience of working at height and using access equipment safely
A customer‑focused and professional approach
Good communication skills with residents and colleagues
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing, Fencing, Carpentry or a related trade (or equivalent experience)
Full UK driving licence
Hours of work:
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
The normal hours of duty are between 8:00am till 17:00pm and the actual hours to be worked each day will be agreed with you, depending on the needs of the business
There may be some Saturdays on a rota basis
