Are you an experienced Plumbing professional looking to step off the tools and move into education?

Do you want to use your industry experience to support and develop the next generation of Plumbing apprentices while gaining assessor qualifications and enjoying excellent work-life balance?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established College within their Building Services, Technical and Professional department. The College has a strong reputation for vocational training and apprenticeship delivery, offering excellent staff benefits, ongoing development and the chance to make a real impact on learners entering the Plumbing industry.

As a Plumbing Assessor, you will work with apprentices across a range of workplace settings, carrying out site visits, assessing competency-based qualifications, conducting progress reviews and providing coaching, guidance and feedback. You will work closely with apprentices, employers and internal teams to ensure learners remain engaged, supported and on track to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress through EPA gateway.

The ideal candidate will have strong Plumbing industry experience, a Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent relevant experience, and a genuine passion for supporting apprentices. Previous assessing experience is desirable, but not essential, as you will be supported to achieve your assessor qualification within 6 months of starting. You must also hold a full driving licence and be confident travelling to employer sites as required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Plumbing professional to move into an education-based role, gain formal assessor qualifications and help shape the future workforce within the Building Services sector.

The Role:

*Assess Plumbing apprentices and competency-based qualifications in workplace settings.
*Carry out regular visits to apprentices at their place of employment.
*Complete progress reviews with apprentices and employers, setting SMART targets.
*Provide coaching, guidance and timely feedback to support learner progress.
*Support apprentices with evidence gathering, learning plans and assessment criteria.
*Help apprentices prepare for EPA gateway and end-point assessment.
*Use electronic systems and e-portfolio platforms such as OneFile to maintain accurate learner records.
*Liaise with employers, colleagues and support teams to overcome barriers to progress.
*Support quality assurance processes, including IQA activity and self-assessment.
*Maintain occupational currency through industry engagement and CPD.
*37 hours per week, with some evening or weekend work when required.

The Person:

*Experienced Plumbing professional.
*Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience.
*Full UK driving licence and own transport.

*Confident working with apprentices, employers and internal teams.
*Able to motivate, coach and support learners through their apprenticeship journey.
*Comfortable using IT systems, e-portfolios and digital learning tools.
*Passionate about training, assessment and developing future Plumbing professionals.
*Assessor qualification desirable, but can be achieved within 6 months of starting.
