We are seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bamber Bridge (PR5) from September 2026. The Role
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs under the guidance of the class teacher.
Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and other learning difficulties.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent strategies.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and independence.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school or care setting.
A calm, patient, and caring approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
