Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEN setting on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and believes that every pupil deserves the chance to succeed. You'll work within a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where relationships, consistency, and personalised learning are at the heart of everything.
Whether you have experience in SEMH, SEND, alternative provision, or mainstream education, this role would suit an adaptable teacher committed to improving outcomes for children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of primary-aged pupils.
Create a calm, safe, and structured classroom that promotes learning, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Support pupils with SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs.
Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, resilience, and personal development.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and adapt teaching strategies to help every child reach their potential.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching within UK primary schools.
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEMH and Special Educational Needs.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Patient, resilient, and committed to creating positive outcomes for every learner.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) prior to starting.
