The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely alongside the class teacher to support learning, encourage pupil engagement, and help children achieve their full potential. The school is looking for a proactive and caring Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils and contribute to a supportive classroom environment.
This Teaching Assistant role will involve a mixture of general classroom support, small-group interventions, and providing additional support to pupils who may require extra help with learning, confidence, or emotional wellbeing.
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
* Support teaching and learning as a Teaching Assistant within a Year 5 classroom
* Provide general classroom support as a Teaching Assistant throughout the school day
* Deliver small-group interventions as a Teaching Assistant to support progress in core subjects
* Work with individual pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement
* Help pupils remain engaged, focused, and motivated in lessons
* Support the class teacher with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
* Promote positive behaviour and strong learning habits as a Teaching Assistant
* Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents where appropriate
* Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development as a Teaching Assistant
* Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting
* Experience supporting KS2 pupils is desirable
* Confident supporting learning on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Positive, patient, and adaptable approach
* Commitment to supporting children to achieve their best outcomes
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
