We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to support a busy local authority estates function in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team responsible for maintaining statutory compliance across a diverse property portfolio.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, and operational by carrying out and coordinating a range of statutory inspections and compliance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking scheduled compliance inspections across:
* Legionella
* Asbestos
* Fire systems
* Emergency lighting & egress
* M&E plant and equipment
* Identifying non-compliance issues and raising remedial actions via CAFM systems
* Taking immediate action where life safety systems are compromised
* Supporting contractor management and ensuring works are completed to required standards
* Maintaining accurate compliance records and reports
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in estates, facilities management, or building compliance.
You’ll ideally have:
* Experience in multi-disciplinary compliance (electrical, fire, water, asbestos etc.)
* Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements within commercial or public sector buildings
* Experience using CAFM systems
* Strong understanding of M&E systems and building services
* Ability to identify risks and act decisively in safety-critical situations
