Audit Manager – About The Role
You will take ownership of a varied audit portfolio, managing assignments from planning through to completion and ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high technical standard.
Alongside managing client relationships and overseeing delivery, you will support junior team members and contribute to the continued development of the audit function. This role offers exposure across a broad range of clients and sectors, providing strong variety and the opportunity to continue developing both technically and professionally. Key responsibilities:
Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion
Act as a main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
Lead audit fieldwork and coordinate assignment delivery
Review audit files and ensure compliance with relevant standards
Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members
Monitor assignment budgets, deadlines, and workflow
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Ensure work complies with UK audit standards and reporting requirements including FRS 102 and UK GAAP
Identify client issues and provide practical recommendations where appropriate
Work closely with leadership on delivery, planning, and continuous improvement
The successful Audit Manager will have:
ACA or ACCA qualified
Strong UK external audit experience within practice
Experience managing audit assignments and client portfolios
Good technical knowledge of UK audit and accounting standards including FRS 102 and UK GAAP
Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Organised approach with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Commercial awareness and proactive mindset
Desire to contribute within a growing business
Full right to work in the UK
