About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Haverhill Social Care Team within West Suffolk. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role supporting children and families across Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Assessment services.You will play a key role in delivering high-quality assessments and managing complex cases, with a strong focus on safeguarding, support, and prevention.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake assessments under Section 17 and Section 47
Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans
Work across Child Assessment, Looked After Children, and Support & Prevention services
Manage a fast-paced caseload (average of 30 cases)
Provide effective safeguarding interventions and support to children and families
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
Contribute to Child Protection conferences and meetings
Deliver high-quality, timely assessments and reportsSkills & Experience
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Strong experience within assessment teams
Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced caseload
Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation and frameworks
Confident in managing CIN and CP cases
Excellent assessment, communication, and organisational skillsWorking Arrangements
Hybrid working - 3 days per week office-based
Haverhill office is the primary base due to proximity to families
Occasional working from West Suffolk House depending on caseload
Attendance at West Suffolk House required for CP conferences and meetings
Condensed hours over 4 days will be considered
