Rate: £140 - £200 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
About the School
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEMH English Tutor looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs? We are partnering with a highly supportive alternative provision in Bradford, working with secondary-aged learners who require a nurturing, trauma-informed environment to re-engage with education.
As an SEMH English Tutor, you will:
Deliver high-quality English teaching to small groups or on a 1:1 basis, covering functional skills, GCSE content, and literacy intervention.
Plan, differentiate, and adapt lessons to meet individual learning plans and emotional needs.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students using a restorative and trauma-informed approach.
Work closely with behaviour mentors, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to ensure a consistent, holistic support plan.
Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement through creative and flexible teaching strategies.What We're Looking For:
QTS, FE teaching qualification, or substantial tutoring/teaching experience in English.
Experience working with SEMH learners, alternative provisions, PRUs, or challenging behaviour in mainstream settings.
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour management.
Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping every young person progress.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs and deliver personalised learning.To be eligible, you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service OR be willing to apply for one.
