Smart Teachers are recruiting a Teacher of Psychology and Sociology for a welcoming secondary academy in South East London (DA18 area). Starting in September 2026, this part-time role is available for 2 days per week, with 3 days available for the right candidate. The successful applicant will teach Psychology and Sociology across KS4 and KS5.

Teach Psychology and Sociology across KS4 and KS5.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that promote excellent student progress.
Assess, monitor and report on student achievement.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Part-Time Teacher of Psychology and Sociology you will:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Psychology and/or Sociology at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for their specialism.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Psychology and/or Sociology within a secondary school setting.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
