About the opportunity:
We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well‑established UK manufacturing organisation specialising in building products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE Manager to take full ownership of health, safety and environmental operations within a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment.
This is a standalone role, where you will be responsible for the entire site's HSE function, working closely with leadership and operational teams to drive standards, ensure compliance, and create a positive, proactive safety culture.
You will play a key role in not only identifying risks but also providing practical, workable solutions, helping the business operate safely and efficiently.
In particular, you will:
Lead, develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and safe systems of work
Ensure compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation
Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements
Act as the main point of contact for all HSE matters on site
Carry out site inspections and safety tours, maintaining high standards across the site
Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
Deliver training including inductions, fire safety and emergency procedures
Promote a positive HSE culture and continuous improvement across the business
Work collaboratively with teams to find solutions to operational and safety challengesWho we are looking for:
Proven experience as an HSE Manager within a manufacturing, warehouse or industrial environment
Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practice
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence others
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
Someone who is commercially aware and able to balance safety with operational practicality
Positive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independentlyWhy you will love working here:
