Youth Support Worker - Secure Centre

Location: Newton Aycliffe
Salary: £30,024 - £33,669 plus allowances, enhanced hours, and sleep-in payments (total package: £37,449 - £41,858)

About the Role
As a Youth Support Worker, you'll provide specialist care and guidance to young people facing complex challenges. You'll act as a keyworker, offering consistency, support, and advocacy while promoting safety and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships and provide emotional support

Safeguard and challenge young people appropriately

Administer medication and maintain accurate records

Create care plans and progress reports

Lead educational, recreational, and physical activities

Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015

Shift Pattern

Weekdays: Monday-Friday (7:30 am - 2:45 pm / 2:15 pm - 11:00 pm)

Fortnightly weekends: Saturday & Sunday (8:00 am - 1:15 pm / 1:15 pm - 11:00 pm)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Calm, empathetic approach to challenging situations

Flexibility and a positive attitude

Previous care experience is helpful, but full training is provided
