Electrical Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading industrial operation within the energy and infrastructure sector. Based at a high performing Energy from Waste facility, the role of an Electrical Engineer will focus on maintaining the integrity, performance, and reliability of critical electrical systems while supporting engineering projects, plant optimisation, and operational continuity.

The successful Electrical Engineer will be a technically capable and safety conscious professional with strong experience in industrial electrical environments and a proactive approach to maintenance and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate electrical engineering projects from planning through to installation, commissioning, and final handover.

* Oversee the performance, maintenance, and compliance of site electrical systems, including high voltage infrastructure and associated equipment.

* Support plant reliability through planned maintenance strategies, technical fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Manage contractors and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.

* Contribute to operational leadership by providing technical guidance, supporting outages, and deputising for senior maintenance personnel when required.

Candidate Requirements

* Demonstrated electrical engineering experience within heavy industry sectors such as power generation, waste to energy, manufacturing, cement, paper, or similar process driven environments.

* Strong technical expertise in high voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, and electrical distribution networks.

* Proven experience managing engineering or maintenance related projects, with knowledge of planned maintenance systems and asset management tools.

* Familiarity with fault finding, root cause analysis, preventative maintenance methodologies, and industrial automation systems such as PLCs, DCS, or instrumentation.

* Relevant engineering qualification, with additional health and safety certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH considered advantageous, alongside strong organisational and communication skills.
