Customs Broker
We're supporting a leading logistics and customs specialist in seeking an experienced Customs Broker to join their established customs team based in Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Customs Broker to support a major client account, managing import customs declarations from initial entry through to final cargo release and invoicing. The successful Customs Broker will join a busy operation processing approximately 1,500 import customs entries each month, making this an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
The position offers the chance for a skilled Customs Broker to play a key role in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods while working closely with customers, customs authorities and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit import customs declarations using CargoWise and the Customs Declaration Service (CDS).
Ensure customs entries are completed accurately and in compliance with all relevant customs regulations and client requirements.
Monitor declarations throughout the clearance process and proactively manage any issues that may impact cargo release.
Liaise with HMRC, customs authorities, government agencies, carriers and other stakeholders to resolve customs holds, examinations and documentation queries.
Maintain accurate customs and shipment records within CargoWise and other internal systems.
Upload customs documentation and shipment information to client portals in accordance with agreed service levels.
Provide regular updates to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding shipment status and customs clearance progress.
Prepare and issue invoices relating to customs brokerage services, duties, taxes and associated charges.
Ensure all customs activities are completed in line with company procedures, customs legislation and client-specific requirements. Requirements

Previous experience working as a Customs Broker, Customs Clearance Coordinator or in a similar customs-focused role.
Working knowledge of import customs procedures and customs compliance requirements.
Experience using CargoWise and CDS would be advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple customs entries and prioritise workload effectively.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach. This opportunity would suit a motivated Customs Broker looking to join a supportive and professional team within a growing customs operation.
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
5% employer pension contribution match
Private healthcare scheme
Additional day's holiday after 5 years' service
Further additional day's holiday after 10 years' service
