Fixed Term Contract until December 2027

Red Sky Personnel are currently looking to appoint a Sub Agent for a major civil engineering infrastructure project in North West Wales.

This is a long-term opportunity on a nationally significant National Grid reinforcement scheme involving the delivery of a 3.4km tunnel beneath the Dwyryd Estuary, two deep shafts, headhouses, and associated heavy civil engineering works. The project is currently in the main construction phase, with tunnelling, shaft works, and major civils activities underway through to 2027.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading a section of works on a complex heavy civils project, supporting safe, efficient, and programme-driven delivery in a high-pressure construction environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically challenging infrastructure project offering long-term continuity of work, strong package benefits, and exposure to major underground and civil engineering delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate construction activities within a defined section of works

• Manage engineers, section engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery

• Produce and maintain short-term look-ahead programmes and support planning activities

• Monitor progress against programme, identify variances, and implement recovery actions

• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

• Oversee subcontractor performance, coordination, reporting, and progress management

• Support temporary works coordination in line with approved procedures and designs

• Review and contribute to method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation

• Liaise with project stakeholders including designers, client teams, and internal delivery teams

• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation via project systems

• Support commercial awareness through monitoring productivity, resources, and outputs

Project Scope Includes:

• Major underground tunnelling (3.4km estuary tunnel)

• Deep shaft construction and headhouses

• Heavy civil engineering and reinforced concrete structures

• National Grid infrastructure works

• Large-scale enabling and permanent works packages

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects

• Strong background in tunnelling, rail, utilities, energy, or heavy civils environments

• Experience managing subcontractors and site delivery teams

• Strong understanding of construction programming and progress reporting

• Knowledge of temporary works and construction assurance processes

• Strong HSEQ awareness within complex site environments

• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• CSCS (Management level preferred) and relevant civil engineering qualification

• Tier 1 contractor experience desirable

This vacancy is being advertised by Red Sky Personnel Ltd on behalf of our client project team.
