Position Details

Role: Children's Social Worker – Connected Persons Team

Location: London Borough of Islington

Contract: Full-Time Locum

*

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £37.05 per hour

Key Responsibilities

*

Undertake comprehensive Connected Persons assessments of family members and friends seeking to provide permanent care for children.

*

Produce detailed, evidence-based assessment reports with clear recommendations for court and fostering panel presentations.

*

Attend court proceedings where required to support professional recommendations.

*

Carry out supervisory responsibilities for children already placed with connected carers, including statutory visits and placement monitoring.

*

Present assessments and recommendations to the Fostering Panel.

*

Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.

*

Deliver high-quality reports and assessments that meet statutory and organisational standards.

*

Participate in regular reflective supervision and contribute positively to team development and service improvement.

*

Undertake additional duties commensurate with the role as required.

What We're Looking For

*

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

*

Strong experience within Children's Services, fostering, kinship care, or Connected Persons assessments.

*

Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.

*

Experience preparing reports for court proceedings and fostering panels.

*

Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within statutory timescales.

*

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
