Operating on a national basis, our client is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Management Accountant to take full ownership of the management accounts function while leading and developing a finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to make a significant impact within a growing and fast-paced organisation.

The Role
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting business decision-making, and leading a high-performing finance team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing monthly management accounts for the company and its subsidiaries
* Ensuring all accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and financial adjustments are accurately recorded
* Monitoring inventory levels and costs, overseeing stock take processes and reconciliations
* Reconciling VAT returns, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions
* Supporting budget preparation and forecasting across multiple departments
* Collaborating with external auditors on year-end reporting and statutory accounts
* Producing insightful financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to support business performance
* Leading, mentoring, and developing a finance team to maximise performance and engagement
* Conducting regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and managing day-to-day team activities
About You
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following:
* Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant – this is a non-negotiable requirement
* Proven experience in preparing and analysing management accounts within a commercial environment
* Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing, mentoring, and developing finance teams
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
* Highly analytical with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful business insights
* Proactive, self-motivated, and confident in taking ownership of key financial responsibilities
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial systems experience
