English Teacher / English Lead – Specialist SEN School
PK Education are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Newcastle, who are looking to appoint an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join their team as English Lead from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner with a strong background in English and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs. As English Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the English curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning while helping every student reach their full potential.
The Role
Full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026
Lead and develop the English curriculum across the school
Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated English lessons
Support students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and SEND
Work collaboratively with senior leaders, teachers and support staff
Monitor student progress and contribute to curriculum planning and development
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching English at secondary level
Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Be passionate about inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs
Be resilient, adaptable and committed to building positive relationships with students and colleagues
