Location: London, Newcastle, Warrington, Bristol, Gloucester or Knutsford
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

About the Role
We are looking for a talented Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join our growing team delivering complex projects within the nuclear and wider regulated sectors. This role offers the opportunity to lead civil and structural engineering activities, provide technical expertise on safety-critical projects, and support the development of junior engineers while working closely with clients and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of civil and structural engineering designs and solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, calculations, and design substantiation for safety-critical systems.
Produce and verify safety case inputs, including Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs), Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs), and Design Substantiation Reports (DSRs).
Prepare and review Interpretive Reports, Basis of Design documents, Analysis Reports, CDM documentation, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, and Technical Reports.
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practice.
Manage and check technical deliverables produced by junior engineers, ensuring quality and compliance.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced team members.
Liaise with clients, regulators, contractors, and project stakeholders on technical matters.
Support project planning, cost estimation, risk management, and programme delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.About You
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards Chartership with support available.
Experience delivering civil and structural engineering projects within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, design tools, relevant standards, and engineering best practice.
Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) software and associated post-processing tools, including validation and verification of modelling outputs.
Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and engineering good practice.
