Hours of work: 3 days on site, 2 days from home (Subject to change at client's request)
The Training Instructor is responsible for the delivery of First Response Emergency Care (FREC3) and First Aid at Work training within a safety-critical environment, ensuring employees and contractors are competent to respond effectively to workplace emergencies. The role involves planning and delivering practical and classroom-based training, conducting assessments, maintaining compliance with industry and awarding body standards, and supporting the development of a strong safety culture. Operating within a major infrastructure project, the Training Instructor plays a key role in developing emergency response capability, promoting best practice, and ensuring training programmes remain current, effective, and aligned with operational requirements.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
Valid FREC4 qualification (or higher) as a mandatory requirement
Proven experience in pre-hospital care, emergency response, or clinical practice
Experience delivering First Aid, FREC3, or similar medical/emergency training programmes
Background in operational, industrial, or safety-critical environments (e.g. construction, military, ambulance service, nuclear)
Strong understanding of emergency response procedures and pre-hospital care protocols
Experience in facilitating practical, scenario-based training and learner assessment
Recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent)
Familiarity with awarding body standards (e.g. FAIB, Qualsafe, FutureQuals)
Experience applying structured training methodologies (e.g. SAT or similar frameworks)
Strong communication, instructional, and group facilitation skills
Role information:
Deliver FREC3 and First Aid at Work training in line with awarding body and regulatory standards
Plan and facilitate practical and classroom-based emergency response training
Assess learner competence through practical and written assessment methods
Maintain compliance with FAIB and internal quality standards
Keep accurate training records, certifications, and learner progress documentation
Review and update training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance
