We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester for our client, a reputable family-run service centre located in Forest Hill, Greater London. This is a prime opportunity for experienced automotive professionals looking to join a friendly team committed to quality and long-term career development. The role of Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester is critical to maintaining the high standards of service expected by the workshop and its customers.
Benefits for the Successful MOT Technician:
Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000, dependent on experience and skills
Monday to Friday, working hours from 8am to 5:30pm
20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 22 days after five years
Supportive team environment within a modern workshop equipped with up-to-date diagnostic tools
Scope for long-term career growth and stability
Opportunity to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models
Potential involvement in MOT testing and advanced diagnostics dutiesDuties:
Conduct vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to the highest standards
Perform MOT testing in compliance with DVSA regulations (qualification preferred)
Carry out repairs including clutches, timing belts, chains, and other mechanical components
Use diagnostic scanners and electronic systems to identify faults accurately
Assist with general workshop tasks to ensure smooth operations
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication with clientsRequirements:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, ideally within a main dealer or independent garage
Proficiency in diagnostics and mechanical repairs
MOT certification is highly desirable but not essential
Own tools and the ability to work independently in a busy workshop environment
