Are you a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Community Healthcare Assistant (HCA) looking for a deeply rewarding clinical role in North Warwickshire?

Evolve Staffing Ltd. are actively seeking professional, empathetic Band 2 Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated community outreach team. This specialized role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred palliative care and end-of-life support directly to patients within the comfort of their own homes.

In this vital community care position, you will never work alone; you will always be paired alongside another experienced member of our clinical team, providing a supportive, collaborative, and safe "double-up" working environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

As a Band 2 Palliative Care Assistant, you will be on the frontline of community healthcare, ensuring dignity, comfort, and respect for patients approaching the end of their lives. Your daily duties will include:

*

Compassionate Personal Care: Assisting patients with essential daily living activities, including washing, dressing, personal hygiene, and pressure area care, while maintaining their dignity at all times.

*

End-of-Life Pathway Support: Providing high-quality care to patients on an active end-of-life pathway, ensuring they remain comfortable, pain-free, and supported in their home environment.

*

Emotional & Family Support: Offering vital emotional reassurances and practical support to patients, as well as their families, relatives, and carers during an incredibly sensitive and difficult time.

*

Collaborative Teamwork: Working closely as part of a two-person community care team, communicating effectively with your partner, and reporting any changes in patient conditions to senior nursing staff or hospice care managers.

Important Role Consideration:

Due to the profound nature of palliative care, there will inevitably be occasions where you will experience a patient passing away. Candidates applying for this position must feel emotionally resilient, comfortable, and professionally prepared for this specific aspect of end-of-life care.

Essential Requirements & Compliance Checklist

To meet NHS framework agreements and clinical safety standards, all applicants must fully satisfy the following strict compliance criteria:

*

Driver Requirements: Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle for community travel across the North Warwickshire region.

*

Valid Business Insurance: Your vehicle must be legally covered for business use (Class 1 Business Insurance is mandatory for traveling between patient homes).

*

Palliative Care Experience: Proven clinical experience in elderly care, healthcare support, or specific palliative/hospice care settings is highly desirable.

*

Mandatory Training: Up-to-date NHS-aligned statutory and mandatory training certification (including manual handling, basic life support, and safeguarding).

*

Occupational Health Clearance: Full occupational health clearance, including verified evidence of up-to-date immunisations and vaccinations required for frontline healthcare workers.

*

Clinical Competencies: Demonstrated clinical competencies relevant to a Band 2 HCA role within a community or hospital environment.

Travel & Mileage Reimbursement Policy

We provide a clear and structured mileage expenses policy for our community healthcare workers to ensure your travel costs between clinical assignments are fairly covered:

*

Client's Hub to Patient's Home: Reimbursed at £0.40 per mile for fully paid travel from the central hospice base directly to the patient's residence.

*

Patient to Patient / Back to Client's Hub: Reimbursed at £0.40 per mile for travel between mid-shift assignments or when returning from the patient's home back to the hospice hub.

*

Home to Client's Hub (Commute): No mileage paid for your initial daily personal commute from your home to the central hospice base.

*

Client's Hub to Home (Commute): No mileage paid for your final daily personal commute from the hospice base back to your home.
