The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in residential building services design looking for the flexibility of a fully remote role?

A fast-growing and ambitious building services consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of a substantial portfolio of residential developments across the UK. As a senior member of the business, you will take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and commercially successful solutions are delivered to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects, with a primary focus on residential developments.
Manage projects through all stages, from feasibility and concept design through to construction and final handover.
Produce and review detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across the business.
Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and commercial standards.
Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams.
Champion sustainable and energy-efficient engineering solutions across all projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.About You

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years' experience within a building services consultancy environment.
Strong and demonstrable experience delivering residential building services projects is essential.
Proven track record of leading projects and managing client relationships.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and relevant UK regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently within a fully remote environment.
Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.What's on Offer
