An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a fast growing, small building services consultancy. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys leading projects, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior team members while working on a diverse portfolio of residential developments.
As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality, sustainable design solutions are delivered to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects within the residential sector.
Manage projects through all stages, from feasibility and concept design to construction and handover.
Produce and review detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across the business.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, developers, and multidisciplinary design teams.
Champion sustainable and energy-efficient engineering solutions.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.About You
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 6 years' experience within a building services consultancy environment.
Strong track record delivering residential building services projects.
Proven ability to lead projects and manage key client relationships.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.What's on Offer
