Contract: Temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate

Empowering Learning are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Manchester from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning targets.
Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
Promote pupil independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Support the development of positive behaviour and social skills.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Be adaptable and able to respond to the individual needs of pupils.
Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
