Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Recycling Operative to join our environmentally conscious team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting, processing, and managing recyclable materials in a safe and efficient manner. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to sustainability initiatives whilst working in a dynamic environment. The position involves physical activity, including heavy lifting, and requires mechanical knowledge to operate recycling machinery effectively.

Responsibilities

* Sort and separate recyclable materials according to company standards and safety protocols.

* Operate recycling machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

* Assist in the maintenance and basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems used in the recycling process.

* Load and unload recyclable materials, often involving heavy lifting.

* Ensure the work area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

* Monitor the quality of recyclable materials to prevent contamination or processing errors.

* Follow all safety procedures diligently to minimise risk during operations.

Requirements

* Previous experience or knowledge of mechanical systems is advantageous.

* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.

* Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and handle manual tasks involving lifting or moving heavy objects.

* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

* Commitment to health and safety standards at all times.
