Science Technician – Secondary School (FY8, Lytham)

We are currently recruiting for a Science Technician to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in Lytham (FY8). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for science to play a key role in supporting engaging and practical science lessons across Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only, starting on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment and materials for science lessons
Supporting the delivery of practical experiments across Chemistry, Physics, and Biology
Maintaining a safe, organised, and well-stocked laboratory environment
Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
Ordering, monitoring, and managing stock of science supplies and equipment
Assisting teaching staff with classroom and laboratory preparation
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in a similar Science Technician or laboratory-based role (desirable)
A strong interest or background in science
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
A proactive, flexible, and team-focused approach
A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
