The Role

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Technology Teacher, with the ability to teach Food Technology, to join their team from September 2026.

This is a maternity cover position, offering the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with well-established departments and excellent facilities. The school has a strong focus on delivering engaging, practical learning experiences and maintaining high standards across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality Technology lessons, including Food Technology, across Key Stages 3 and 4

* Plan engaging and practical lessons that inspire students and develop key skills

* Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback

* Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment, particularly within practical settings

* Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative teaching practices

* Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification

* Experience teaching Technology, with the ability to teach Food Technology

* Strong subject knowledge and confidence in delivering practical lessons

* Good classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners

* A proactive and positive approach to teaching and learning

* Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
