Empowering Learning are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Wigan from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated education professional who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, provide targeted interventions, and lead whole-class learning when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Support pupils across the primary age range to achieve their full potential.
Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery.
Assist in monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback.
Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold HLTA status or have equivalent relevant experience.
Have recent experience working within a primary school setting.
Demonstrate excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Be confident leading whole-class teaching sessions.
Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
Be committed, reliable, and passionate about supporting young learners.
