Occupational Therapist
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist school in the Farnborough area to recruit a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapist for a September 2026 start. This is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to shape and develop occupational therapy provision within a supportive and forward‑thinking setting.
The school supports pupils aged 4-16 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and SEMH needs, with a strong focus on communication, independence, and personal development. Staff work closely together to create a nurturing and structured environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
The Role:
Lead the development of a high‑quality occupational therapy service across the school
Deliver specialist, outcome‑focused interventions for pupils
Embed therapeutic strategies into classroom practice and the wider curriculum
Support pupils with sensory needs, communication, and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals
Provide training and guidance to staff to promote inclusive practice
Monitor progress and adapt interventions to meet individual needs
Contribute to a holistic approach to pupil development
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration (essential)
Registered with or working towards RCOT membership
Experience working with children, ideally with ASC and/or SEMH needs
Confident delivering staff training and working within multidisciplinary teams
Strong understanding of child‑centred and evidence‑based practice
Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people
Contract Details:
Position: Occupational Therapist
Location: Farnborough area
Start Date: September 2026
Working Pattern: Part‑time, term‑time only
Pay Rate: £40,643 - £45,077 FTE (pro‑rata)
Key Stages: Ages 4-16
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
HCPC registration required
Experience supporting children with additional needs desirable
Safeguarding training can be provided
