A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join its expanding project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused professional to support the successful delivery of large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use construction projects.
Working as part of a project team and liaising with site management, design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project information is controlled, accurate, and effectively managed throughout the full construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage, maintain, and control all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RFIs, site records, and correspondence.
* Ensure all information is correctly uploaded, tracked, distributed, and archived through the company’s document management systems.
* Maintain accurate document registers, revision control, and approval trackers.
* Coordinate the flow of information between project teams, design consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
* Monitor document review and approval processes, escalating delays and outstanding actions where required.
* Support project teams with the production of reports, trackers, and document control updates.
* Assist with the preparation and collation of project handover documentation, including Operation & Maintenance manuals and completion records.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO standards, and project-specific requirements.
* Provide general administrative and document control support to site and commercial teams.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Document Controller within a Tier 1 contractor, main contractor, housebuilder, or construction environment.
* Strong knowledge of construction document control processes and information management procedures.
* Experience using industry-standard platforms such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar EDMS systems.
* Understanding of design information, technical submissions, and construction documentation workflows.
* Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict project deadlines.
* Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
