Contract: Term-Time Only | Temporary (September 2026 - July 2027)
Location: Blackpool Academy
Salary: £14.25 - £15.25 per hour (dependent on experience)
Are you an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? Do you believe that nurture and high aspirations should be at the heart of every child's education?
Our school is a proud Blackpool Academy committed to providing a happy, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. The academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and versatile KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a hard-working team for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Our School Ethos and Culture
In our school, there is a wholehearted belief that effective education begins with a trusting relationship between staff and pupils. Our school implements a trauma-informed practice and places student emotional well-being and self-regulation at the core of daily life.
Our school serves a rich and diverse community, meaning an inclusive ethos is the key driver. High expectations are held for all pupils, regardless of their background or socio-economic status, helping them build Excellence, Respect, Ambition, Resilience, Pride, and Integrity. If you share this passion for raising aspirations and helping children become resilient, lifelong learners, you will fit right in.

The Role
Our school has the flexibility to offer an individual with strong KS2 curriculum knowledge the chance to thrive in either (or a hybrid) of the following capacities:

Intervention Lead: Delivering targeted, high-impact support to small groups of pupils, focusing on closing attainment gaps in Maths and English. The successful candidate will help implement progressive learning ladders to build solid educational foundations.

General Class TA: Providing high-quality, whole-class support alongside the classroom teacher, fostering positive relationships, managing behaviour through emotional coaching, and ensuring a calm, purposeful environment.

What Our School Is Looking For
Please note: Proven experience working specifically within Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) is essential for this role.
Essential Criteria:

Experience: Solid background as a KS2 Teaching Assistant with experience in a similar primary school setting.

Curriculum Knowledge: A strong understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum, particularly core literacy, reading, and numeracy skills.

Nurturing Approach: An alignment with the inclusive values of our school; the ability to act as an emotionally available adult who can support children's pastoral and academic needs.

Intervention Skills: Confidence in working with small groups to target learning gaps and build children's self-belief.

Attributes: Highly organised, adaptable, and a team player who communicates with mutual respect
