Are you passionate about science and keen to support the next generation of budding scientists? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our dedicated and enthusiastic Science Department at a thriving secondary school in the Grimsby area.

About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our teaching staff and ensuring the smooth running of practical science lessons. As a Science Technician will be responsible for:

Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals, and materials for laboratory lessons.
Assisting teachers and students during experiments, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
Maintaining and organising the science laboratories, including equipment management and stock control.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Supporting the department with administrative duties as required.

About You:

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Science Technician with a passion for science. Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience working as a Science Technician or a similar role (though full training as a Science Technician can be provided).
A strong understanding of the scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a practical knowledge of lab procedures that a Science Technician role involves.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
A commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for students.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., A-levels in Science or equivalent; a degree in a scientific subject is desirable).
